Pros

Conveniently located in Campbell, near really nice places to eat. Easy access to gym etc.

Cons

The Architects are almost clueless and no one seems to notice or care. We've spent $100M on a chip that doesn't work and are trying to get more money for another chip that won't work either. Wave is a HW company. Being a SW engineer here is like being a second class citizen. SW people are not involved in HW design which means the HW they come up with is unusable by SW engineers. There is no SW direction at all. Constant design changes and nothing written down makes SW design impossible, which is why wave has no products and probably will never have products.

Pros

I think the biggest thing about working at Wave was the type of people you work alongside with. Some of these people were among the early people who helped bring computer science to where it is today. I have learned a lot just having conversations with them now and then, and they are always willing to have a chat with us interns. My supervisor was very respectful of my abilities, so were every other person I worked with. The higher ups always had an open ear to my suggestions on various things, and they actually followed through with most of them. The work itself was really fun as well, it's hard to find places that solve challenges as complex as the one Wave is solving. This is a place where your work is valued a lot since it actually matters.

Cons

Compensation is not very competitive. No other cons.
