Know that your are expendable in the company. Good if you just plan on staying 1-2 years but not more. - Water Resources Engineer Watearth Employee Review

Pros

Learned many technical work skills in a short amount of time. Compensation was fair but there was a lot of overtime and stress involved with the position. Many projects but few engineers to complete them. Had to wear many hats.

Cons

Expected to do many extra career development tasks outside of your normal work hours. Not a good fit for employees with families. A high-stress environment always seemed to have to push hard just to complete a deadline that was scoped with not enough time to complete (Deadlines not realistically set by management). Watearth has a high amount of turnover. Insurance benefits are expensive for families, not very good plans. If you notice the principal does not keep any employee for more than two years. I knew of one coworker that was there for longer than 3 years, everyone else is new because the principal and HR use the smallest mistake to terminate employees they don't want to have. There is a revolving door policy in the company. If the project you were hired for is close to completion I advise starting looking for another job on the side because there is the possibility you could get blindsided and let go anyway. I had a hunch that this was going to happen to me, but I didn't act on my gut feeling.

Pros

A good small business where you can develop your skills and learn from people with lots of experience. Owner is very down to earth and approachable.

Cons

You need a high level of independence to do well at this company. Not necessarily a con for everyone, but if you need help you might have to initiate the conversation.

Pros

Remote work, pay, not much else. You might promote quickly.

Cons

HIgh turnover due to unreasonable work expectations . Jennifer (owner) takes on more work assignments than the firm can handle, similar to how home contractors always hustling business While 100% remote, a lot of big brother technology to make sure you are glued to your computer. No respect for work hours/boundaries. No work life balance..
