Pros

There are some truly hard working people here trying to make the best out of a messy situation

Cons

Wasserstrom likes to use temp services to fill their empty positions and then drag out the temps as long as possible before hiring them on full-time. Additionally there is little to no training. You will be thrown in to the deep-end and left to sink or swim depending on how quickly you can adapt. Nepotism is rampant, as is sexism (there are very VERY few women in management positions and the bathroom situation in sections of the warehouses is spotty at best, no Paternity leave for new fathers, etc. ), and class-ism (there are very stark differences in how workers are treated and perks they are given based on the area in which they work) are unavoidable . There are employees who have been here for years who do minimal work but management will defend them endlessly while their co-workers grow increasingly frustrated with them and their lack of contribution/constant mistakes. The turnover here is insane, as raises are rare and minimal and the benefits are absolutely horrible. Everything quickly devolves into a blame game and no one wants to be accountable for any mistakes, as it may affect their chances for the incentive pay... Myself and several other former/current employees could easily write novels on the issues within this company.

Pros

Wasserstrom has a strong core of long‑tenured associates, which speaks to both the stability of the company and the quality of the work environment. The average associate tenure is over a decade, and with more than 123 years in business, there is a deep sense of history, craftsmanship, and commitment across the organization. Many associates have built long careers here, contributing deep knowledge and a genuine willingness to mentor, collaborate, and support one another. One of the company’s unique strengths is the close connection between the corporate office and the shop floor. Having these teams physically and operationally connected creates strong alignment, real‑time collaboration, and a shared sense of ownership in the work being done. While the company values its traditions, it is also forward‑thinking and continues to invest in innovation, process improvements, and new ways of doing business. Turnover is low, associates take pride in what they build, and it shows in both the quality of the work and the overall culture. Leadership is approachable, teamwork is encouraged, and there is a clear emphasis on safety, consistency, and continuous improvement. Associates are given opportunities to learn, grow, and build lasting careers while contributing to a company that continues to evolve and innovate.

Cons

Because the company has many long‑serving associates and established processes, the environment may feel more structured or traditional for those who prefer constant change.
