The Washington State Bar Association is actively building a culture that supports employees with excellence in work/expectations -- but also with quality of life. This is a people-first place. Colleagues are smart, supportive, and incredibly caring; your obligations as a human (family, friends, health) take priority. There is also a priority on transparency and equity in compensation; living the commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and emphasizing the "why" of working here, which is championing justice by supporting/regulating the integrity of the legal profession.
Cons
There are not many (any?) direct paths of advancement (ie, one job leading directly to another, higher position) but skill and career development--whether the next step is internal or external--is still a focus.
