Pros

Set your own schedule. Home Office. Large line of products and services you can offer.

Cons

No upper management support. If there is an issue or mistake that was not your fault, it comes out of your paycheck no matter what or the customer pays for it, the company never takes the responsibility or hit. VERY EXPENSIVE insurance with high deductibles. Does not pay work expensive for sales staff. If they run a promotion like free gifts to customers, you pay for it even if you did not agree to it. No accountability. Lots of internal issues that never get fixed but the reps have to keep the customer happy so they don't lose them. The owners only care about the money going into their own pockets. So many internal issues I am surprised this company has not been sued. No clear direction on what is going on. Constant changes that are last minute and no clear instructions on them. Delivery charges made to customers after they have already purchased without advance notice.

Pros

The actual wages/salary are decent compared to industry standards. Beats being unemployed.

Cons

Benefits are not great and very expensive for insurance. This is one of the most poorly managed companies I have ever worked for; there is no clear communication within or between departments, no clear accountability for anything including their own employee hiring and onboarding processes, and despite that there are no clear directives you will still be micromanaged by middle and upper management. Nepotism runs rampant in this company as you would expect from a family-owned business. When you interview, they will tell you that they're a growing company. What they won't say is that this is all inorganic growth driven by buying up smaller companies. They will tell you there are advancement opportunities. This is a lie. What will really happen is your position will be "restructured" to vastly expand the scope of your job duties and do the work of three people without any increase in pay or change in job title. Very little coworker camaraderie to speak of because everyone is constantly looking over their shoulder worrying about getting fired.
