Pros

Hands down the culture is the best part about working with Wanelo. We're a team that works to build Wanelo and each other; I rarely see negativity. I genuinely love being in the office and working with the team. Mindfulness and the work/life balance are also really important at Wanelo. Constant personal development is also important to Wanelo, and I think that's rare and amazing. Transparency and an all hands on deck mentality. Wanelo is extremely team and goal oriented, so we're constantly working on new projects and working with different people. You must be able to question everything, tear down your work, build it back up again, and have fun building the new processes. Wanelo is a really small team that accomplishes so much in such a short time period. It's hectic, high stress / high-performance based, and super fun (if you're into that sort of thing). Overall, Wanelo is awesome and we make a good team.

Cons

Previously, it felt like there was a disconnect between different teams and projects. However, we're now doing monthly meetings and generally just better connected, so this is no longer a concern.

Pros

It is a fun app, and it does have name recognition (at least to 13-25 year old White girls). The people are hit or miss, and the perks are shiny and nice.

Cons

My first day I had to write down random facts and the the marketing people crafted my "personal profile" to fit those things so I can fall in line and establish a voice that meshes well for the company...Day 2 they fired someone.. take those examples and repeat over and over.. That sums up the nature of the company.. Shiny and fun on the outside, toxic and emotionally taxing on the inside. CEO fires everyone CPO is afraid to use his voice and is basically on puppet strings the whole time... CMO = joke CTO= hot Russian who is brilliant ( he may actually be a perk) All in all.. the worklife balance is non-existent You are not allowed to dissent against the status quo.. otherwise you will be terminated You are required to show that you are indispensable 24.7 You are always looking for other work I have worked in the startup ecosystem for awhile now and this is by far the worst, I keep waiting for it to change. There is no transparency -- not to the workers or investors.
