Pros

-Learn a lot about European culture, tourism, and geography, particularly in Italy. -A lot of my coworkers were wonderful people, interesting and smart. I learned a lot from them. - 100% employer paid healthcare premiums, although they change the plan sometimes twice a year. -The opportunity and promise to travel for business and take the tours, although you have to do your time for that to happen and its difficult to hang on.

Cons

-Management lacks leadership. You will see them from time to time but there is no meaningful interaction. There is no path, there is no plan...at least not one that is shared with you. They spring new projects, new companies, new tours, new markets constantly with extremely poor communication. You will have no idea what direction they are headed to next or what their overall vision is. -Management was extremely disorganized and slow to react. Although a very small company, it is very difficult to get a straight answer from anyone. You may be waiting months for answers. You will have to remind them constantly for even the smallest of requests. They are very reactive instead of proactive and will wait for a situation to internally fester and ooze with toxicity before responding. -HR policies are non-existent. If you have a problem at work, you have nowhere to report it and no one to talk to. There is a constant fear of retribution. -The culture at this company was very gossip oriented. i.e HR policies. Trust no one. People are constantly reporting others and inappropriately talking behind each other's backs and this is interdepartmental as well as intradepartmental. -The culture & lack of leadership lends itself to having employees at the "bottom" feeling disrespected and unvalued. The company likes to project an image that it is a tightly knit team, but there is no feeling of being apart of a team, even though you are supporting the very backbone of operations. Management often left these employees out of company activities, celebrations, trips etc. -No future. They say there is room for advancement, but it turns out to be an empty promise. Management does not attempt to get to know their employees, go over their resumes, provide quarterly reviews etc. -Pay is low and hours are long. You will work 40+ hours on a tight salary. Many employees have to make financial sacrifices in order to work at this job, in the hopes they make they are noticed, get promoted and move up. Usually, that doesn't work out and people stay a couple years, get some experience and move to another company that treats them with respect and pays them better.

Pros

Flexible schedule, good base pay rate and you can make a lot in tips if guests really like you, no costume required for history-themed tours.

Cons

Inability to add guests on the spot, confusing pricing structure for guests makes it hard to answer their booking questions.
