Pros

Main Research Director is amazing and everyone there (besides management) is great

Cons

I honestly just remembered when I had a concussion I took 1 day off because I couldn't see and was yelled at and that day I had to proof/edit 250 pages of a deck and I got yelled at lated that week for missing 1 typo. The amount of work for the amount of pay was ridiculous. They prey on your, inexperienced people and mold them into their type of workers - which is work 9 - when I say you can leave/log off. You "get" holidays off but wait - not when a client is expecting a deliverable and then you have your whole family eating Christmas dinner while testing a link you aited on for hours. For the love of god please do not work here.

Pros

The professionals at Wakefield Research are the best at what they do. They are incredibly smart, committed to each project and generous with their time. I love the team environment and how generous colleagues are, everyone is always willing to help each other. The work is very interesting, covering an incredible range of topics and working with clients who have been with us for years. There is generous time off, every federal holiday plus vacation and extra time given throughout the year. Remote work is a plus.

Pros

-All federal holidays off -Remote work environment -Interesting projects -Great coworkers

Cons

-Senior partners show little to no appreciation to employees. Both are very personable with clients but couldn’t care less to make an effort with their own staff. During my time, there was a singular time a token of employee appreciation was given— and that was only because of complaints, then it never happened again. -Low salary/long hours. Working into your evenings was a regular occurrence. -Revolving door of staff. Read a previous review that stated this & the company disagreed this was the case.. If multiple people are saying the same thing, it is time to stop being defensive and simply DO BETTER. Treat employees fairly and with respect, and they will stay longer than a few months. -Aside from high turnover, being short staffed was seen as normal, although more work was always taken on! During my time here, the workload never slowed down even with low staff numbers, which would burn staff out with the long hours necessary to complete the work. And even after that, all staff received in recognition was either a verbal, “Good job”, or worse, “that is what we are supposed to do”. Loud and wrong. That is not how you treat your workers that keep your business running. -The constant stress experienced here is NOT an industry standard. - “Merit” based promotions, left much to be desired. A slight bump in pay for more responsibility outside of your role due to short staffing. Not worth it. - Can’t forget this one— employees were encouraged to ONLY give positive reviews here on Glassdoor to improve applicants view on WR, and if there were any negative reviews, we were encouraged not to post them but to simply communicate them to management and they would be taken seriously. Highly highly unethical to suggest such a thing especially when no positive changes ever resulted from prior complaints. Did not like that experience one bit.
