Pros
In the middle of a global pandemic, the way companies treat their people will shine light on their true colors and that of its leaders. Waggl navigated through Covid-19 with both agility and empathy. Many of the challenges we faced were unprecedented, and leadership didn't always have all the answers. But through change and hardship, Waggl always returned to: 1) its mission -- helping companies everywhere channel the voices of their people to drive positive change, work that was particularly impactful during a global crisis, and 2) its people -- taking great care to allow for the flexibility and empathy needed to support those of us who were parents, caretakers, or just having a hard time in this new reality. Feeling both fulfilled and supported in this work helped us navigate what could have been a very difficult time.
Cons
No business is having an easy time right now and Waggl is no exception. This year is surfacing tough challenges to navigate, not only with the pandemic but probably even more significantly the issues of racial inequity and injustice. I'd like to see Waggl not only recognize but prioritize its own DEI work, starting with its internal initiatives. There is so much opportunity for Waggl to emerge as getting this right but it will take constant, consistent humility, time, and energy by leadership to move the org in the right direction.
