Pros

Amazing, creative, and talented industry veterans work here and they are the nicest people on the planet. The employees and middle-management do everything they can to make this place an incredible company to work at. I loved this job because of the videos, content, and studio productions I was involved in.

Cons

The highest levels of management (The CEO and The Board of Trustees) are individuals who are more concerned with making money and keeping the company alive in a dying local news/media industry, they have no focus on the content that they produce. I would be shocked if anyone in upper management or the board actually watch the ONLY 2 MAJOR PROGRAMS that WMHT produces. It broke my heart, it's such a small company and as the theme song to Arthur goes "It could be so wonderful..." if only they practiced what PBS (the network we broadcast our programming to) constantly preaches they would see where they went wrong.

Pros

I enjoy the mission-driven work we do and the collaborative team.

Cons

Could work on breaking down silos in communication and developing a digital-first strategy.

Pros

Great people to work with. Company invests itself in the local communities in all areas: culture, education, and history. Working there was like being paid to be in civics, history, and geography classes. They also have very good benefits. You feel like a true citizen of the Capital District, and get to meet locals from just about every walk of life. Plus the food perks are incredible.

Cons

It's a non-profit so the pay is not at the top of the scale, and raises don't come easy. One or two loose canons who occasionally make it difficult for the rest. Sometimes stuffy guests need to be mollycoddled.
