Pros

Very laid back and easy work as a video editor. Very 9-5 ish so not a lot of late nights.

Cons

benefits were minimal, the producer in charge did little to help in personal growth, boring projects, very stuffy co workers on the magazine side. The online side seemed much more down to earth.

Pros

Working with the best journalists in the field every single day on a variety of projects. Access to the movers and shakers of the tech industry. Opportunities to explore any section/medium you're interested in. Always something interesting to work on.

Cons

Culture is a little stiff and formal; much more NY than SF in terms of dress code, office design (spotless, no personal mementos allowed), and dominant males deciding what's cool/fashionable. Communication is sometimes a problem, though not more than most places. Upward mobility/promotion is entirely random and circumstantial -- you might get lucky, or you might be gone.

Pros

WIRED is definitely a fast-paced but rewarding place to work. It has plenty of great resources at their disposal. They also consist of a dedicated team that is always pushing forward to ensure the success of the group.

Cons

Depending upon the department, certain personal and professional growth structures aren't put in place for advancement. It isn't an ideal platform and sometimes going at 100 mph with a focus on constant innovation can feel work/dedication is overlooked. It really depends on the environment or specific focus but I reasoned this to be a fairly universal theme across the board.
