Pros
Employees are generally pretty friendly. Irvine is a great place to live. Hours are generally reasonable.
Cons
The data storage business is in decline. WD had a great run, but it seems like their shift to new technologies is coming too late. With the merger with HGST, a lot of people were laid off. In general, the company does a lot of restructurings, which is just a cover for mass layoffs. The company values its engineering talent, but if you are on the support side, you're viewed as a second class citizen.
