Pros
What you get working inside one of the best NPR stations in the country is the same as what you hear listening to it. Incredibly smart people. Engaging topics of discussion. Regular fundraisers. Quality and consistency. Run by a quality institution and professionally managed.
Cons
Because NPR is so committed to consistency and because most of the staff are long-timers or lifers, like in any college or non profit, sometimes change and upward mobility can be slow. If you're looking for a work environment that is fast paced creative chaos, this is not it. Here everything is as measured and as button downed as you would expect. Whether that is a good or a bad thing depends on your perspective and what you are looking for.
