Pros

Depending who you are friends with, you might get a good project. It is a very political place. If you don't butter the right people, you will not get ahead.

Cons

No career path. No mentorship. Constant shift of focus. No priorities.

Pros

Overall, working at Voxer was a good experience. It's hard finding a company who deals with not only some less main stream technologies (Node.js - but its popularity is improving) and also considerable scale. So getting a chance to work on Node.js and really see behind the curtains of how things work and how to build a scalable system was a big plus. I'll definitely be taking what i've learned there with me. The teams are more or less well defined and the outlook is positive for their new Voxer pro initiative to target businesses.

Cons

Voxer seems to have attracted a few nay-sayers in their ranks which isn't healthy in a startup environment. Some of them left during my time and were replaced with new folks so hopefully they will start to have a more positive attitude all around.
