Pros
Easy to get a job if you have a record. Union means job security.
Cons
Pay is horrible if you are new contract (hired after the grocery strike). You have to pay to be a union member. Pay raises are minuscule and set by union contract. Management doesn't care about you, your schedule, or anything. They will promise you raises and then have them "rejected by upper management." They treat you horribly because they know that if you had other options, you wouldn't be working at vons.
