Pros

The management is really working to prioritize staff growth and wellbeing. It's a fast-paced place with an ambitious agenda so there's a lot to do.

Cons

It's a smaller nonprofit coming out of its start-up phase so the internal infrastructure is still being strengthened.

Pros

Progressive workplace Living wage The best DEI/JEDI training I've received to date Very detail oriented They really want you to succeed Seasoned managers Great health insurance after 1 month for full-timers

Cons

Policy team was spread thin at the time (might have been mitigated with the hiring the CEO did towards the end of my internship) 50% of the work was tedious, but necessary (I was an intern, after all) You must be invested in G Suite (I prefer a more dynamic CRM like Notion/ClickUp/Allo) Workplace telecommunications are rather starchy for my tastes So much documentation because you're working through Tides & V4P

Pros

Met some of the most devoted public servants who are committed to using political advocacy as a way to push for economic equality and social justice

Cons

Small (but that can also be a good thing depending on who you are)
