Pros

Some of the best basic pay rate on the high street, comfortable relaxed uniform. Excellent initial induction training, put up in hotel fully paid for. Team at store level very supportive Excellent target dashboard, always know where you and and how many you've got left. Monthly bonus and challenges for very little rewards Strong British Culture, proud branding Vodafone's charity support with JustGiving ect.

Cons

Friends and family discounts cancelled last year and you now only get discount on SIM only, which costs Vodafone nothing - tight company, not willing to give a penny more. Challenging systems that take a long time to learn, and are forever crashing and failing. Bills customers for being in Madagascar when they're actually in Manchester, bills of £1000s and there is no quick fix...speak to this team...speak to that team...go to the first team...customer has to pay...customer does pay...customer never gets a refund. No work-life balance, short staff levels means on days off you are sometimes asked to go in or go to another store. Phone always going off with some work related rubbish. Thanks Julie from _________ Store, I needed to know about the price plan change at 10pm on a Sunday Evening. Customer targets hard to achieve when EVERY customer comes in with a problem and your job is to make a sale...remember you are a SALES ADVISOR not a customer service assistant. You are targeted on SALES not help and advice. Always new procedures and policies...focus shifts from power selling to this to that...it's a life or death policy..but only for a week or so! Rubbish prices and service compared to EE, Carphone Warehouse and other competitors. Sometimes CPWH can beat us by over £15 a month on deals. Forever giving customers bad news. "We can't match the price from EE, even though you've been a customer with us for over 10 years and have 5 contracts." "Sorry Sir, even though you've been on the phone to customer services for the last 5 hours, I cannot credit you £30 for a bundle which didn't go on your phone". Customers are never happy, there is nothing you can do to make them happy. All customers have had a bad experience with Vodafone somewhere along the line... deliveries never showing up, yet customer services saying it has been delivered so they will not send another. Getting things done take forever. You take on customer issues because you feel bad the customer has been run around in circles for weeks, only to find out exactly the same will happen to you. Call centre in back end of Eygpt and sometimes advisors hard to understand when you're desperate for help. Very little progression available - very hierarchical organisation so good people have a long wait or end up leaving. No ongoing training. Anyway they can swindle you out of bonus...they will! Seems alot of "original" Vodafone staff have left and moved on, company just not the same as it was 4 years ago. Downhill big time, since the move to Siebel, Phones4U takeover, generally unhappy environment with big workloads for the pittance. All the higher management, such as regional managers have no instore experience and therefore have no idea of what actually goes on and the problems we face.
