      Pros

      Amazing culture is what set this place apart. We were a small team with a great product, and everyone was on the same page. There was strong leadership and a focus on taking care of employees.

      Cons

      There was such a focus on sales and customer support, but not much attention paid to updating the product. It would have served our customers better to put some investment back into the technology. Vocabulary.com was acquired and half the company was unexpectedly laid off. Better communication around this was a missed opportunity.

      Pros

      Great people when I was there. My favorite job I've ever had. Unfortunately, the company moved Inside Sales to Tucson and I wasn't going to move there from NYC.

      Cons

      None. Only place that I actually liked everyone I worked with.

      Pros

      Vocabulary.com was an amazing company to work for and my dream job! Before the IXL acquisition, we had such a lovely culture of hardworking people who truly cared about educators. Every department worked together and we all celebrated the wins together. Also, we has free lunch on Wednesdays! The founders are so smart and they were very approachable. We used to do an annual symposium (before COVID of course) and got to learn so much about how the product works from people in different departments.

      Cons

      The IXL acquisition wasn't the right fit for Vocabulary.com's vision. Unfortunately the founders couldn't have known that.
