Thanks for your feedback. It’s difficult to strike a balance between transparency and the boundaries of confidentiality that other employees are entitled to. I did wonder at one stage if it might be easier for everyone if we just published everybody’s salary, including my own for all staff to see. But life is never as black and white as that and there is probably some GDPR rule against it 😉 Equality and fairness are paramount. An individuals rating is made up of so many factors - their performance delivering their work but also other considerations such as leadership skills, how they support their peers, how they work to deadlines, innovation and continuous improvements they suggest or implement for their own or other departments…the list goes on. You may not always be aware at an individual level of the contributions of others. All that said we are always working to make sure that we improve our performance management processes and how we benchmark performances to make sure our employees get the recognition they deserve. We have recently brought in a new category in our ratings, the ‘exceptional’ category. This is aimed to recognise people who put themselves in front of exceptional challenges and deliver outstanding results consistently over 12 months. This new category was based on feedback from our teams, we are using our new suggestion box as a tool to gather feedback and take action to ensure we continue to evolve our processes. We will continue to refine our process, it’s something I think is never ‘done’ but always evolving. We use our company update every 2 months as a great forum to reognise our employees, both individual contributions as well as team contributions. It is also a great place to talk about the latest staff promotions. Our peer recognition scheme was something we designed last year to ensure that everyone has the opportuinity to nominate and regonise their peers. All nominees get prizes and are celebrated at the company update, individuals with the most nominations will also get vouchers as a thank you from Vizor for supporting their peers! I have been nominating other people to do this section of the company update recently as I enjoy it too much and spend too long talking about the nominees, its hard not to get carried away - its so exciting when the nominations start coming in and I see all the behind the scenes support Vizor employees give each other, the high regard they have for each other and loyalty they show each other. Its great that you enjoyed the learning and the experience in a FinTech, thank you for your contribution to Vizor. Sarah Anderson, COO, Vizor
