Pros

It's a pleasure to write / create content for this company! They provide outstanding editorial content as foundation for scripts. Editorial leadership is knowledgeable and dedicated to creating the best educational / entertainment product for kids. They are respectful and appreciative of the creative writing process and provide timely and helpful feedback to ensure scripts align with curriculum goals.

Cons

As a freelance script writer, I wasn't embedded in the company daily work flow. I developed scripts in remote meetings with editorial supervisor who was collaborative, incredibly knowledgable and fun to work with. Then I wrote scripts and revised from notes provided. The revisions usually made sense and weren't excessive. The only con is that they have a company policy prohibiting distribution of videos, so I had limited opportunities to see how the scripts I wrote came to life on screen.

Pros

There are plenty of benefits that employees actually enjoy. The commuter pass and parking program, weekly catered lunches, fitness reimbursement, and the training and other development opportunities.

Cons

The CEO and his management were so focused on making profits, forgetting about balance, the real vision, and company priorities. The current problems were blatantly ignored while taking advantage of employees, neglecting our well being, losing the work-life balanced we were promised! The outcome was overworked, stressed, and unhappy employees who felt frustrated at work which also affected performance in a terrible way! Instead of actually talking about the decline in performance and resolving the real problem, we were blamed for it and even pressured to perform better! If one would suggest decreasing our load, management would take that against you and accuse you of being incompetent! The CEO being obsessed with getting higher results, will immediately fire anyone who's underperforming and couldn't qualify their insane standards! Fear is the thing that drives people to keep on no matter how exhausting work gets from the continuous increase of workload, no matter how unreasonable it is. No one wants to get fired just like that, without any back up plan. The job is enjoyable, coworkers were great, and students were a joy to teach. It's just the leadership that makes this company terrible!
