Such a dull lifeless place - IT Apparently Viridien Employee Review

Pros

I have been working here for almost a year, I still can't think of any pro's besides the vile coffee machine and I only listed that as a pro because it's free.

Cons

If you are IT, you are considered a nobody. Management couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag. That saying "The lights are on but nobody is home" comes to mind. On a daily basis you will hear others running one another down. Such a dull and lifeless place that I often feel as if I'm passing away. As I write this I am on reed.co.uk

Pros

Mostly caring people, free lunch, and good benefits.

Cons

The hierarchy and growth path are not that exciting for engineers.

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
