Management is aloof and this is by choice. When I was dealing with discrimination and harassment because of my disability, I was told by HR that a respectful workplace free of unlawful discriminatory harassment is a "privilege and not a right." I spent 9 months trying to constructively work with management to fix the problems, but I was told that I need to just stop complaining about the unlawful discrimination that was going on The DEI committee sees it as its mission to preserve the status quo and gaslight marginalized employees
