In the beginning a lot of latitude to grow my department.

After significant growth in my department, and payout of extraordinary bonuses, there seemed to be some jealousy from C-Levels and attempts to block progress by adding additional hoops. We went from a two week average deal pipeline to over six weeks, which killed growth. Not all C-Levels were this petty, just one in particular--the Professor himself allowed this to continue squelching other high performers as well which ultimately lead to the company's demise.
