Pros

The parent company Marsh has an office in Washington, DC with more job opportunities and better pay.

Cons

1. If you graduated from a culinary institute you have the opportunity to be promoted to VP. No additional education or designations needed. 2. Units merged years ago but employees did not catch on (or continually pretend) to the training so management bullies long time employees to take up the slack. 3. Employees from other units will consult you to help them do their work, but are not willing to help in return or answer your questions. 4. You will have a sales quota of premium you should write. You WILL NOT be compensated or promoted if you make the quota because the existing managers have been there for years and are not leaving. 5. You will be yelled at, while sitting at your desk where everyone can hear it, if you do not make "enough solicitation calls" or have a slow production month. 6. Training for new employees is done by video or fellow employees who are forced to help you. They frequently tell you they do not have time and let's discuss later. 7. Constant computer problems. 8. Telecommuting - only for some. Not done fairly. 9. Telecommuters do not do their fair share. Do not answer phones, do not help on projects, are not required to attend office meetings. In office employee must take on projects and last minute tasks....and deal with management's yelling. 10. SVPresidents assigned to "special projects" and "developing new products/markets" but nobody every receives any updates on their research. However, they stay employed and well paid. 11. Premiums are not competitive but you are told to develop "relationships" with broker so they will have their clients place coverage with our company even though the premiums are too high. Note: brokers work for their clients NOT Schinnerer. Why would they do this?
