Pros

Humble culture. Everyone is excited about work. We are just starting from mostly research to prodcutionizing and as expected there are number of challenging problems to solve which touches distributed systems, AI, robots, UI and all other AI state-of-the-art algorithms/architecture Still learning in "productionzing". If you come from big companies you would expect things like perfect Dev/Ops, release process, dependecies on other team - OKR etc but I see we are still learning. I think it is still ok since we are not that old. Leaders are great. I can trust them that people are aware of the problems and very easy to talk to.

Cons

Not that big pay as big companies

We're so glad you are enjoying your time here and appreciate you calling out a lot of startups' growing pains. We are working hard every day to address them. We use OptionImpact and other benchmarking tools to set compensation for all of our positions, which ensures that the salaries and equity we offer compares well to other startups in Silicon Valley. FAANG companies usually offer higher salaries than startups at the expense of far less ownership and impact, and everyone needs to pick their path between lower growth at a big company versus higher growth in startup roles.

Pros

- Very healthy work-life balance. No pressure to come in after-hours or on weekends. - Activities foster friendship and engagement. Several times a week there are opportunities to join in activities like sports and cooking classes. The CEO and CTO are as likely to join in as kitchen staff and other employees. It really feels like a family. - The company clearly attracts very smart people. A typical lunch conversation involves philosophical discussions about the nature of human intelligence, the consequences of automation, and genuine interest in each other's projects. - No politics or ego-driven conflicts that I could see. Just a flat hierarchy with self-motivated, mission-driven people. - Management seems to genuinely care about career advancement for employees, even when it means supporting talented people in leaving the company to pursue a PhD at MIT, take a job at Google X, or start their own company. I wouldn't be surprised if Vicarious one day has a legacy like Xerox PARC, PayPal, or Bell Labs owing to the innovators who got their start there.

Cons

No significant cons that I experienced.
