Pros

-The mission of inclusiveness for children with special needs.

Cons

-LONG hours for BELOW minimum wage page -When I worked here, there were rats in the living quarters where counselors were told to sleep. There were also not enough beds so newly hired counselors (from high turnover) would have to sleep on the floor. Management somehow blamed camp counselors for this disorganization when it falls on leadership. -The mission of inclusion to serve children with special needs who would otherwise would be turned away from other camps is inspiring, however this facility is NOT set up with the equipment or staff to facilitate this. MANY of these children were violent and little to no support was set up for this. -Immediate management is inexperienced to be in directorial role and condescending to its camp counselors in my experience. -You will mostly be working with 16-19 year olds who are typically grateful just to have a job. If you are older than that and have experience in this field - this job is not for you as it is run poorly, pays poorly, is exhausting; your skill set will not be valued. -Even though located in Silicon Valley, the facility is dusty and dirty. Clients (participants) may vomit, urinate, or defecate on beanbags in recreational area, and remnants of that remain.
