Pros
I have a unique perspective on Vetted Solutions as I worked there part time several years ago and more recently have been a client of theirs. I’ll start from the client perspective: the Vetted Team produces great results! Their CEO and search consultants consistently deliver high-quality executive candidates (and great hires!) for their clients. My perspective from the time I worked there is that the team has a true interest in understanding what their clients need. This goes beyond just finding candidates with the right skill set, but a true focus on understanding what that skill set means based on the organization’s strategy and culture. If you’re interested in working for a retained executive search firm that focuses on developing high-quality candidates and results for their clients, Vetted is a great place to work.
Cons
Working at Vetted is fast-paced and can be intense. They are busy, which is a good thing and a reflection on their reputation in the market place (I think 90%+ of the clients I supported while there were repeat clients). My impression is that the team members who succeed at Vetted absolutely need to be self-starters, need to be self-accountable, and need to be comfortable learning as they go. While those are good qualities to have in a team, the “con” here is that can be a lot to ask of your staff on an ongoing basis. I did see the leadership there (the CEO in particular) make efforts to provide more training, and spend more time on coaching junior- and mid-level team members, but I think that was also difficult in some cases to fit into the schedule (see above “pro” on their team’s client focus).
