Pros

-The pay is fine, as long as you don't plan on making a career out of it. -Good position for students and those who have retired. -The work itself is stress free, however one small mistake can quickly lead to termination. -Small size helps maintain quality employees. -Corporate listens to requests and complaints. -Hourly rate higher than competitors, but still not fantastic.

Cons

-Hours can be extremely sporadic at times, which was mainly due to account manager. Eg, short turnovers between shifts, increasingly common double-shifts, and an account manager that rarely seems to show up. -Not much upward mobility. -Corporate should care more about their accounts. -Officers expected to have completely open availability at all times. -Schedule has a nasty way of being completely changed for everyone with less than one week of notice.

Pros

It's very easy to get hired (they have VERY low standards). If you are drug-free, have no criminal history, and possess a heartbeat and a pulse you'll get hired.

Cons

Vescom subscribes to a corporate culture based on nepotism, despotism and favoritism. Promotions are made under the table - contrary to their written corporate guidelines - and are based solely on the relationship with site management. Account managers with little or no experience are supervising guards with 20+ years of experience, and the outcome is reflected in a very high employee turnover rate. Finally, the pay is one of the lowest in the industry, further impacting the high employee turnover rate.

Pros

Good, hands on training. Little supervision during work shift.

Cons

Hours; only allowed to work graveyard or evening shift. Supervisor must work the day shift. No advancement. Once you hit max pay, there are no more raises and very little chance of advancing to supervisor.
