Pros

Connecting with clients was the highlight of this job.

Cons

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working at Veronica Beard, and it's disheartening to say that my time there was marred by discrimination, bullying, and an unsupportive leadership structure. The work environment at Veronica Beard can be aptly described as a mean girl culture, where toxic behavior thrives and employees suffer. From the moment I joined Veronica Beard. I encountered subtle but pervasive discrimination. There was a clear hierarchy, with certain employees favored over others based on superficial factors like appearance or personal connections. This favoritism extended to project assignments, promotions, and even social interactions within the store. Bullying was also rampant at Veronica Beard. Cliques formed quickly, and those who didn't fit in were ostracized and subjected to belittlement and humiliation. Instead of fostering collaboration and teamwork, the store culture encouraged gossip, backstabbing, and undermining of colleagues. It created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety, where speaking up felt impossible for fear of retaliation. What's perhaps most disappointing is the lack of support from the leadership at Veronica Beard. Despite numerous complaints and instances of misconduct being brought to their attention, leadership turned a blind eye or, worse, actively participated in perpetuating the toxic culture. Their failure to address these issues effectively allowed the toxicity to flourish and made it clear that employee well-being was not a priority. In such an environment, productivity suffers, morale plummets, and employees are left feeling demoralized and undervalued. It's evident that Veronica Beard has a long way to go in fostering a healthy and inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel respected and supported. In conclusion, my experience at Veronica Beard was marred by discrimination, bullying, and a lack of leadership support. The mean girl culture that permeates the company undermines the professional growth and well-being of its employees. It's my hope that Veronica Beard takes concrete steps to address these issues and create a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

No matter how good the company is, your specific store can make or break your experience. Do your research on who you will be working with before you sign that offer letter!

Pros

employee discount is average NOT worth the nightmare that company is.

Cons

The culture is toxic from the top down. Management and corporate operate with a clear “mean girl” mentality—cliquey, unprofessional, and completely unsupportive. There is little to no respect for employees, and favoritism is obvious. The pay is extremely low—well below what’s reasonable for the level of work expected. You are essentially asked to do multiple roles (sales, operations, clienteling, merchandising) for minimal compensation. Hours are excessive, no real regard for work-life balance. Expectations are unrealistic, constantly shifting, and rarely matched with proper training or support. There is no appreciation, no growth structure, and no accountability from leadership. Communication is poor, and the environment feels more competitive and negative than collaborative. Overall, it’s a draining place to work where you’re overworked, underpaid, and undervalued.
