Pros

1. The structure and compliance behind your actions are crucial. Everything must adhere to an order, and any deviations will be promptly addressed. Our senior leadership and compliance team are highly skilled and have answers to all issues. Without their expertise, the following drawbacks would severely impact the department.

Cons

1. There is only one insurance plan, a high-deductible option, which is terrible for a healthy bachelor or bachelorette. I only go to the doctor for quarterly bloodwork and must pay full price. Be aware that this is the only insurance available. I recommend enrolling into a FSA/HSA. 2. There is absolutely no growth in the company. Several coworkers have confided in me about this. Most role changes are lateral moves within different departments—a sort of shuffling. I don’t know anyone, nor have I heard of anyone who has experienced any organic upward movement. 3. This position requires a broad yet basic knowledge of multiple systems—you’ll need to learn up to ten and have logins for each. Combined with the call center atmosphere, the workload is excessive for the pay. For example, you might handle an issue involving several systems, then pivot around, relogging each time (they are actively working with SSO capability). This creates a heavy start/stop mechanic. Add to that ongoing electronic issues (this issue is company-wide, and not department focused), system problems, and fluctuating team numbers; the compensation doesn’t match the demands. The role is only manageable with a team consisting of of 9-10 members. Anything less and you’ll be working non-stop, with no downtime.
