We are happy to hear that you worked with a great team and that you were able to enjoy the cultural aspects that we are so proud of while you were here! Nerf guns definitely are encouraged! Many roles at Verified First are production-based and do have goals for the team to meet. We work hard, but we also like to have fun! Pre-Covid, when the team as a whole met these goals, we used to celebrate with group activities including attending sporting events, axe throwing, movies, etc. We are looking forward to bringing those back once we are able to start gathering in large groups again! As for compensation, the two businesses that you mentioned each employ hundreds of thousands of people, while VF only has around 100. It is hard to compare a small business to such large businesses. Paying our employees fairly and competitively is very important to us. When you compare VF to local companies that are similar in size and industry, our compensation is on par. Pros

There are some amazing people at the organization.

Cons

The level or micromanagement is unlike I have ever seen in my career. Only certain employees are allowed laptops so they are forced to work at their desks and good luck working at a conference. You literally have to email all of management and the team your “end of day” including a task list of what you did for the day…because you know they can’t pull a sales report. But they do, that is sent every morning! Additionally they have click tracking software installed on all the sales teams computers. Your phone calls are recorded and sales meetings video recorded. You have ZERO autonomy at this company. Leadership has no trust in their employees. Ironic for a company who attempted to utilize prison labor to cut costs. VF sister company Safety Security ended up in litigation for this exact reason. If you could background screen the company on ethics they would fail. They discriminate against female employees, harassment has been a documented issue that is swept under the rug. Additionally their pay (base/commission) is far below other companies in the market. Six different employees expressed that they were lied to about the commission structure and pay by sales leadership and nothing was ever addressed.
