Good Place to Work - Linecost Analyst Veracity Networks Employee Review

Pros

Low stress environment. There is plenty of time to get the work done, and I never have a supervisor breathing down my neck or placing deadlines on me. Other employees are friendly and helpful. There is little to no smoking, drinking, swearing, or crude language in the office or at company events. I almost never stay after hours to complete projects - if you don't get it done today, just work on it again tomorrow. The managers seem stressed and busy, but not the lower employees.

Cons

Departments don't always communicate well with each other, which leads to confusion and contradictory directions. The company is small enough that perks like provided lunches or outings are somewhat rare. Also, day-to-day tasks get monotonous over time (after a year or two).

Pros

- PTO policy - up-to 16 hours per month. - Work-from-home ability - Mediocre work load, allowing for motivated employees to use paid time for education/training - Employee loyalty - Annual parties - Monthly lunches - Competitive health packages - Annual company trip for highest performers or contributors

Cons

- Holding onto noncontributing employees - Expectation of continual knowledge, but no formal education or training curriculum - Horrible camaraderie between most departments - Solely sales driven with no desire for R&D into better technologies. Anything that looks good on paper will be sold regardless of whether or not it can be supported long-term. - Salaries seem to be focused more toward keeping money in the board member's pockets than holding onto contributing employees - Per the CEO - "The Operations department is a sunk cost." Unless you plan to join the Sales team or Finance team expect to feel disconnected from upper management.
