Pros

Velrada usually only hires someone after they have been placed at a client, so you get to decide whether you want to join Velrada on the basis of the first gig.

Cons

Once that first gig is over you will be sent to anyone willing to pay Velrada's daily rate, regardless of the fit against your skillset or your level of interest. You will need to pretend to be enthusiastic about the second gig otherwise you will be branded an outsider and your days at Velrada will be numbered, specially when you join the bench after your second gig. You will have been promised a bonus before you joined, but when the KPI's you have to achieve to meet the bonus criteria are disclosed you quickly realise that this will never happen. You will be expected to attend Friday afternoon drinks, where you will need to polish your outward level of enthusiasm for the company you have grown to loath. You will start to see employment agents and you soon realise that you are one of many, many Velrada people they have seen that month, and that having Velrada on your resume in Perth is a very career limiting move. When you finally manage to get a job outside Velrada you will realise that the CEO had been reading your work emails as he sidles up to you and makes comments about the company you are joining, even though you have made a point of not disclosing this information to anyone in the company.

Pros

The management never tried to micromanage me. They just assigned clients and left it to to keep them happy.

Cons

I was supposed to cater to the needs of different clients and keep them satisfied. To achieved that goal, I often had to stretch myself too thin. At such times, I didn't think they paid me well enough or cared for my contributions enough.
