Pros

Paycheck is about all I can say.

Cons

The culture is one where sales is king and can do whatever they want. Bullying and deceit are the driving forces of the business unit. Salespeople falsifying documents for their best interest and directors verbally beating down employees are regular occurances. Sales people are simply order takers and "yes" people. Overpromising things and guaranteeing things they have no clue about. Favoritism is rampant as people with little knowledge of what the core business is all about are put in leadership roles regularly. It was a good company that has lost its client focus and become a pompous and unresponsive mess

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We carefully consider all reviews to see where we can improve and continue to make Vector Solutions a great place to work. Vector is known for its world-class customer service and mission to provide industry-focused solutions, which is why the company was able to successfully navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, support and increase our customer base, and significantly grow our team. It’s true that Vector has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and continues to take steps to simplify, streamline, and improve our operations across the company, including those in our Sales department. Our annual National Sales Meeting is an opportunity for our Sales team members to come together to review the previous year and recognize Sales winners, share insights with one another, learn about new and updated Vector products and offerings, and set goals for the coming year. Every effort is made to offer ongoing training and development for our Sales team members and managers to ensure everyone has the tools they need to succeed. Any kind of deceit, favoritism or bullying is unacceptable, and we encourage you to contact Human Resources should you witness or experience any of these behaviors.

Pros

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Cons

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry this has been your experience, and we take comments like this seriously. Vector is a mission-driven company serving customers in critical industries, including public safety, education, industrial, government, healthcare, and other organizations that rely on our technology to help make people safer, smarter, and better prepared. We are proud of that work and of the team members who support it every day. Vector has implemented many positive changes over the years based directly on team member feedback, and we continue to welcome input across all areas of the business. We recognize that benefits, career growth, priorities, and culture can be experienced differently by different people. We do offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health coverage, 401k support, flexible paid time off, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and other resources; Growth Pathways to help team members understand career progression; and companywide initiatives such as Team Member Appreciation Week, Vector Volunteer Week, holiday events, and special commemorations to help build connection and culture. We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
