Pros

The people who work at Varsity are very passionate about what they do. There are a lot of travel opportunities, mostly to Disney World. It's still a young company, so several of the company's founders are still actively involved (including Jeff, our CEO). Employees often have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects - there's no such thing as a "typical day."

Cons

People who love cheerleading come to Varsity expecting it to be their "dream job." Many leave sorely disappointed. A previous reviewer used the term "inbred" to describe the team at Varsity, and I couldn't have chosen a better word. The only people who succeed at Varsity are those who drink leadership's Kool-Aid and agree to everything they're asked to do without question. Outsiders are treated like imbeciles, even if their background and experience far surpass those who spent their last eight summers as a summer camp instructor. Don't even get me started on pay. Leadership literally banks on the fact that people will stay because they're passionate about cheer, despite the fact starting salaries are far below average and with little room for upward mobility (both in terms of salary and status). Benefits are likewise underwhelming. I was also less than pleased with my relationships with my direct manager, who outright valued a passive aggressive approach over a direct one.
