Pros

Benefits are well above average in industry (lunch, transport provided when onsite) Consultants are friendly towards each other in general

Cons

There was a new country manager introduced last year that shook things up. - micromanages by introducing new things with no output - repeated fear tactics - badmouthing past consultants in an attempt to gain trust from newcomers

Pros

Vantage Point offers practical employee benefits such as transport claims, mobile expense reimbursements, and lunch claims for onsite assignments, which are helpful and appreciated. The company also provides good exposure to real-world cybersecurity projects and hands-on learning opportunities. Employees are given responsibility and encouraged to grow professionally. I happy that there is a management reset.

Cons

The work environment can be fast-paced, and expectations are relatively high. Employees are expected to be proactive and adaptable, which may require an adjustment period.

Pros

While I missed the leadership reset, I still have fond memories of my time at Vantage Point. In June, the former Chief Hacking Officer relocated back to the Singapore office as CEO and took charge of both local and group-level operations. He brings a renewed focus on making the workplace enjoyable again, cultivating the hacker mindset in every consultant, and driving initiatives to grow the business. Vantage Point offers competitive pay and benefits — including taxi and meal claims for onsite work — that continue to stay ahead of the industry. Consultants are exposed to projects in the financial services sector and trained to perform testing according to industry standards like OWASP WSTG and MASTG. The workload is reasonable, consultants are trusted with a fair degree of autonomy to get things done and support is readily available when escalation is required. With new leadership at the helm, the company is well-positioned to regain its footing and reach even greater heights.

Cons

Onsite work can be frequent at times, but this is not uncommon in the industry (otherwise hybrid arrangement applies). It also helps build strong camaraderie among the team, as onsite projects are often located around the same area, allowing colleagues to bond over lunch.
