Pros
Honest, open, transparent communication between departments and regardless of title. Everyone here wants to do good work. If you want to see what you can do with your talent, this is a great place. I'm able to apply my hard-earned education, experience, know-how and intuition here.
Just as important this is a fantastic culture cultivating people of integrity and character. Sure, we're all co-workers and we may not all share the same extracurricular interests, but we generally care about each other's well-being. I can say the same for management. The big boss, my boss and future mentor, just bought everyone standing desks and foam standing pads. We have a workout room, where you can also take a nap. And, as a thank you we just got a Starbucks-level espresso machine. In short, employees are value. Specifically, I'm valued.
Cons
Wellll, we do have our struggles but, our struggles are more growth related. Some things we are working on right now is hiring employees to help with the workload. We're also working out logistics kinks and for my department we working out how to integrate new and legacy software. Therefore, some projects can be taxing, but we have the support to get it done, which is more than most workplaces. I'd rather have growth struggles than any other struggles. And, the support we get is what matters because no job is going to be a cake-walk and you will always want/need support.
