Pros

The VJTI Brand Name, Location, Lazy work environment, Decent salary, Autonomy

Cons

Poor Labs, no chance for contractual professors to become permanent. Have to go through the recruitment process every 11 months. Only one leave is allowed in a month. No sick leaves. Have to suck up to permanent faculties or risk not getting selected during the next recruitment process. Subtle Linguistic and caste-based discrimination, but very severe position(permanent/contractual) based discrimination exists. Not a good place for talented, knowledgeable General category Male candidates to work as lecturers. Should be trying to secure better opportunities or be stuck as a contractual lecturer till one falls ill. No benefits like health insurance, PF, gratuity, etc. for contractual faculty. Only those individuals whose spouses are earning well or those who belong to rich families or non-ambitious and untalented individuals should work here as a contractual faculty.
