Pros

There is good internal mentorship, support and culture between developers, PMs and admin staff. VISR managed to collect some of the smartest and most talented people in the UK, it is unfortunate that they have been overworked, under-utilised, and in some cases tossed aside. The team have produced a great platform and product over the past few years, however since early-mid 2024 all processes and procedures which made this possible have been removed, so that every aspect of the business can be micromanaged again.

Cons

What used to be a growing and innovative company has stagnated into a badly ran vanity project, ran on the whims of an increasingly unstable founder. With abysmal stakeholder communication towards the PMs and development team, and a deeply incorrect understanding of Agile methodology being enforced, talented project managers are not given the authority to manage their teams correctly, and C-suite advice is not listened to. There are three core problems which are faced by every member of staff every day: • No meeting or decision is allowed without the founder present. • Objectives or deadlines may have changed without warning, but nobody will be told unless the founder is asked directly. • The founder will be too busy to talk to, and will inevitably not show up for any planned meeting. This method of low-responsibility micromanagement and information gatekeeping forces employees to spend half of their day and energy personally seeking the founder out for guidance instead of doing their job. It seems almost perfectly formulated to stroke the founders ego and make him feel wanted/needed, whilst causing anxiety and reducing productivity in the rest of the staff.

Pros

Free tea and coffee and fruit. Office dogs.

Cons

Toxic culture coming from the top. Nepotism, bullying, sexually creepy comments and actions, micromanaging behaviour. Very low pay. Low morale of team. Dirty and messy office with filthy carpets from dogs going to the toilet all over office. Have seen human poo on toilet floor more than once. Poor financial management, after being told it was our "best year ever for sales" senior management drove up in new electric Jaguar and Audi before laying off approximately one third of staff. Founder bullies staff and blames staff for his own failings. Creates a chaotic environment by changing objectives without communicating changes to staff, then yells at staff. Company have written "innovative" reviews on this site to try and hide company issues rather than correct them. Pay attention to the warnings and take a job somewhere else. Still unsure? Contact staff and former staff to ask for honest views on working here.
