Pros
Overall, many large, complex and interesting projects to collaborate on creating a dynamic and challenging work environment. The professional talent level is exceptional, at all levels. Benefits are typically better than peer firms and salaries are competitive.
Cons
Typically there is a substantial imbalance for work/ personal time due to the pressure for meeting billability targets, pushed mainly on staff and project managers. Too much responsibility shifted to PM's without the support of management. Often described as a pressure cooker environment, with few rewards, especially during this recent declining economy. Politics and self-serving actions are way too prevalent for a healthy firm. Accountability is a joke for senior managers and undermines many deserving professionals. The generational company ideals and core values all got lost during these recent difficult times....which may ultimately define the type of firm VHB really is.
