Pros

Free Keurig coffee? You won't often work OT, but it will be unpaid if you do.

Cons

Forced schedules (you will be forced to be there between 7 and 8 every day, because the owner likes that schedule. No matter if you're more productive at 9), no unpaid time off allowed, you're only given 3 sick days per year (so if you get the flu you can kiss any vacation time goodbye), work days are ruled by the demand to clock 6.5-7 hours billable time every day (unrealistic), management is dishonest, manipulative, and self-serving. Any attempt at creativity is squashed by outdated design aesthetic, and you will be forced to design terrible ads for terrible clients (clientele is 95% corporate science/medical field contracts). Micro management runs rampant, and any suggestion of improvement to management style is seen as mutiny. Entire design staff continuously turns over every 2-5 years. This is not a place to go if you value your design work, your career, your personal morals, your personal growth, or your sanity/happiness. The two positive reviews written for this company were written by management trying to cover themselves from the truth of what this place is like.

V2Works would like to first start off by saying how sorry we are that you were so unhappy working for us. We truly believe people should love what they do, and be happy where they are at. As a successful design company, we continually strive for a great working environment, and honestly feel we go out of our way to take care of our employees — both on a professional level and personal level. Not only do we care for our team on a daily basis, we truly value our team members from every point of view, getting to know each person individually, and support them as much as possible to allow them to thrive. While we expect our employees to contribute 100%, V2Works still focuses very hard to cultivate a cheerful, creative atmosphere where our designers can sit down at their desk every day and feel satisfied with the work, as well as the organization. V2Works has spent over 20 years building a company that works hard, but balances it with also playing hard — however sometimes there are individuals who refuse to be happy no matter how hard we try support and assist them along the way. To not think of a single pro of working with V2Works is extremely sad. We feel our play-hard company activities such as massage days, movie days, bowling, golf, foosball games and weekly lunches out, are a fun environment for all and balances out the work-hard days. With all that said, some people are just not happy, as we feel is the case with you. We do, however, wish you the greatest happiness and success in the future.

Pros

What's not to like as a professional designer when you have a variety of clients and brands to work for on a daily basis? The small agency environment adds to the integral role you play in whatever position you're working in. You won't be a lost cog in a machine here and you'll feel like part of the family so long as you can keep up with the fast pace.

Cons

Maybe you won't like starting work at 7am... Then again, you get off at 4pm. You be the judge.

Pros

I love working here for many reasons. There is little to no stress — no mandatory late night and weekend work (in 2.5 years, I've had to work late twice). Show up on time, do your work, go home — easy as that. They truly care about us like family. We have summer outings, massage day, weekly group lunches, month end happy hour, and the best employee Christmas Party I have ever been to. I always feel like I can talk to management about anything at any time and if I have an issue, it will be resolved calmly and professionally. At this moment, I love the dynamic of the office. We can work seemlessly together and you don't have to jump through hoops and get something approved by 8 levels of management. Everyone has a positive outlook and is ready to help out with anything. All levels are included in creative sessions and everyone feels welcome and that their opinion is valued. I had very limited experience and they took a chance with me. I have grown by leaps and bounds. I learn something new everyday and am grateful for it all. As I learn new things, my salary has reflected that with an 132% increase in 2 years. If you have the right attitude, work hard, have a sense of humor, and have attention to detail, I’m sure you will be a great fit here.

Cons

I wish we had sick time that wasn't part of PTO. If I have the plague, I don't want to have to choose between getting everyone sick and going on vacation. Because then everyone will be sick!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and being part of the V2 Team. We try very hard to make people here feel valued, just as if they indeed were family. We work just as to make sure we all have fun. As far as the PTO goes, that has been looked as both ways. We have had employees that at the end of the year had unused sick leave. With PTO, that time can now be used as vacation!
