Lack of support, slow growth - Account Executive V2 Communications Employee Review

Pros

The employees are generally nice and it's an overall friendly atmosphere. There are opportunities for growth as long as you work hard for it. There is no strict dress code and it's very casual. They have an open door policy and as a small company, there's no red tape.

Cons

This is a very clique-ish environment with a lot of talking behind each other's backs. It's less about collaboration and more about individual recognition - gossiping, cattiness and making you look bad. You have access to senior management but there is little support to overcome challenges or develop professionally, unless they like you and they think you are worth being helped. It's very hierarchical and you can get easily siloed in your role.

Pros

V2 Communications does pay well. They offer a competitive salary range for roles and have several training options and creative panels that are engaging and interesting throughout the year. They also have good results for their clients, but those results come at a cost for culture and employee mental well-being.

Cons

There is zero culture. There is such high-turn over with employees (at every level) that it is hard to even know everyone's names. They also don't tell you this in the interview process, but they don't actually have a desk for you. You need to book your desk a month in advance and it is a constant stress trying to find a seat--even though they ask you to be there 3x a week to start. It's a mess and creates a lot of confusion. This only adds to the disjointed culture of V2. People tend to be competitive, catty, and cutthroat. If you make a mistake, even a tiny one, you are cut down from your manager within the hour. It's a culture of fear, high stress, and zero compromise. Expectations are incredibly high and if you don't get the results they want, there are major issues. Management barely has time to provide you with feedback and everyone seems to run a mile a minute, creating a culture of stress that spins out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. At V2, we care deeply about our people, their growth, and their experience, and we regret to hear that your time with us did not reflect that. We want to clarify a few points: while our work is fast-paced and expectations are high—hallmarks of the PR industry—we are committed to providing constructive feedback with the goal of supporting professional development. Our turnover is in line with industry averages, and we strive to create a positive and collaborative culture. We also recognize that our current office setup is not perfect. We are in the process of addressing our space constraints so that our space better supports our team, and we plan to have a better setup in place for 2026. We’ll continue to listen to feedback and evolve, because our people are the heart of V2 and critical to the results we deliver for our clients.
