Stale Practices and little employee value - Customer Communications and Social Media Specialist Utah Transit Authority Employee Review

Pros

Learn about trains, onsite doctor's office that is free for employees

Cons

Subjected to very graphic things and incidents of people choosing to end their life by train. Processes are outdated and there is an unwillingness for change and progress. Some of the supervisors we dealt with simply weren't cut out for management, and it impacted our team morale greatly. COVID was not taken seriously at the beginning, and the dept was very slow to transition to WFH. We were asked multiple times to come into work physically during the pandemic-- even though several team members were very uncomfortable with that. Worked more than half of my time there understaffed because employee after employee on my team would quit. Leadership will talk but refuse to walk that talk. Outward Mindset does not apply to them. Not a place to have any creativity or suggestions for new processes. If you keep your head down and do what they say, you will be great.

Pros

Good benefits and lots of advancement opportunities. The people are great to work with as well. I enjoy the goals and objectives of the company to provide public transit.

Cons

The same as most jobs, but nothing worth mentioning specifically.

Pros

Management is mostly fair. Standard bus driving job. Good training with free CDL class B. Paid during training.

Cons

Salt Lake COL is expensive. Pay does not match cost of living.
