Pros

Clear and aspirational vision on product to serve the customer. Learned to live with everyone remote because of COVID. Core leadership took active ownership of service to customers. Espoused "we love our employees." Had high hopes for AI

Cons

Fire, ready, aim on AI. Bad hire in sales management. Leaders surprised at what the employees expected from "love"

Pros

If you enjoy having a big impact on a mission-driven company, Ushur fits the bill. Marketing is a lean team, but well organized and really effective. The team has really clear goals (objectives & key results) that are both top down & bottoms up. We have a weekly tactical meeting and quarterly business review & planning sessions. Everyone's voice is heard and everyone works really hard. The Pursuit of Excellence and Growth Mindset values are definitely internalized.

Cons

Roadmaps with partners and products can sometimes be nonlinear, and Sales / Sales Enablement has some growing pains. Marketing is sometimes asked to project manage initiatives on behalf of those teams, but we get lots of support & kudos from our team when that is the case.

Pros

• If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work inside a piñata filled with hornets, this is the perfect place to find out. Colorful on the outside, unexpectedly painful on the inside, and always a surprise when you swing at something. • You will develop adaptability at a superhuman pace. Processes change so often it’s basically corporate interval training. • Coworkers are great — there’s a real camaraderie that forms when everyone is collectively trying to decode decisions that feel like plot twists in a mystery novel. • Fantastic environment for people who thrive in chaos or are trying to build resilience for future apocalyptic scenarios.

Cons

Processes tend to be held together with the professional equivalent of chewing gum, duct tape, and the power of positive thinking. It’s impressive, but also mildly terrifying. • Communication across teams sometimes feels like each department lives in its own alternate universe, complete with unique laws of physics and time. • Strategic decisions can feel bold in the way that lighting fireworks indoors is bold. Technically possible, but not ideal for long-term stability. • The sense of direction shifts rapidly — often mid-stride. If you enjoy learning new priorities before you’ve finished the previous ones, you’ll feel right at home. • The pace and unpredictability could be overwhelming for anyone who prefers plans that last longer than 48 hours.

I appreciate the candor here (and the creative metaphors). Beyond the humor, it’s clear you experienced real frustration with shifting priorities, inconsistent processes, and cross-team communication. We can acknowledge how challenging this can be. The positive callouts about the people and the resilience are meaningful, and they’re exactly what we want to protect as we improve the fundamentals. We’re already taking steps to add more operational structure (clearer ownership, tighter communication loops, and priorities that don’t change mid-flight unless they truly have to). Thank you again — the intent to help the company succeed comes through, and it’s heard.
