Pros
Amazing coworkers - Urby hires talented people and I’ve made amazing relationships and had the opportunity to learn from my team and others across different properties. Discounted rent - Urby offers discounted rent for employees which allows employees to save on rent as well as understand the brand from a resident perspective. Travel opportunities - I’ve had the opportunity to travel across the country to work at a different property which has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, lead in a different capacity, and promote the brand. Feedback - mid and end of year reviews for all employees. You have the opportunity to speak to your own performance as well as your peers and your managers performance. They also send out pulse surveys so that they have a feel of how everything is going. Overall vibe - most people work really hard and towards a common goal of wanting to see the company, their team, and themselves grow. Outings - celebrations | holiday parties, outings, dinners, team lunches, etc. Support - I feel comfortable asking questions and leaning on others when I need help. Relationships - they recently rolled out a mentorship program which has allowed cross function learning and has helped on property teams meet people from HQ. Upper management and the c-suite takes the time to know everyone by name.
Cons
Some leasing and management offices are open 7 days a week which means there are less days for the entire team to collaborate together but in busier buildings I understand why this is necessary.
