Pros

If you're an editorial professional who enjoys writing quirky-fun reviews for party locations and trendy tchotchkes you'll probably enjoy working here.

Cons

If you are technology professional you will want to steer clear from this company. The laissez faire attitude of the technology leadership lends no innovation to the department. The main part of the business throws only a handful of meaningless projects to developers while the main load of the work is farmed out to external development houses. This may or may not be due to senior project managers' refusal to write any form of specifications to provide the internal developers with clear directions of their vision. It seems they feel it's easier to deal with external companies than its own IT department. When you do get work as a developer you're forced into a very aggressive timeline for projects while you play mind reader to guess what the actual needs of the business are. You'll spend a week developing something only to find out the company won't go forward with the project or they'll ask you to completely redo it; and then redo it again a day before the product goes live. If you do happen to land a job here learn as much as you can because you'll probably have plenty of free time before you move to the next company.

Pros

Great work environment. Fun office. Best co-workers. Inspiring CEO. Last year has been filled with positive change and think the year ahead is going to be very inspiring and fulfilling for everyone.

Cons

Depends who's in control of music in the office.

Pros

UrbanDaddy is a company filled with creative, intelligent, and interesting people. Great office location in the Flatiron district with access to lots of restaurants and bars for happy hour. The company has a generous holiday package. HR has grown a lot and the new team is adding things like Pizza Fridays, which everyone is loving, as well as clearer policies in the handbook. Fun company parties, discounts on Perks, casual dress code are all pluses.

Cons

- The company has been around for 10 years but still functions as if it has been open for three. Lack of process in many departments, though this is slowly improving in some. - I can't attest to the company's outlook over the next 6 months because there is no transparency. If an employee is not a part of finance or one of the sales functions, there is no information shared on the financial outlook/status for the organization. - There is a lot of separation between the three floors in the office; I've heard people say that they don't know anyone in the other offices. There needs to be some way to get everyone to mix more, people aren't participating in the organized monthly happy hours. - There are no middle managers. Too many people report to the CEO who has his finger in too many pies. Those who are managers don't necessarily have proper training to lead teams. Not a lot of growth opportunities in several departments due to flat nature of the company
