I improved my writing skills, however just by practice as I never received feedback.
Cons
My experience was very bad.. I hope other interns had better experiences. I never received performance reviews, and feedback was never given about my articles. I was asked to write about events other employees (not myself) attended with little or no information. I wasn’t allocated a desk, and instead desk jumped depending on who was out at meetings.. at the end, I was asked to extend my contract (for free) and I politely declined for a paid position at my other internship. When I asked, I was told I was able to receive at written reference. I emailed to obtain this on three seperate occasions and every single one was outright ignored. I rang to enquire, I was rudely dismissed and hung up on. It’s sad because it’s a company I was aspiring to, and working there I felt completely disregarded and disrespected. The company survives on exploiting young creatives desperate to get their foot in the door.. I can only hope they’ve change their ways.
