Pros

- Continuous training and product knowledge that expanded overally makeup skills and knowledge - Gifted new makeup launches -LOreal staff discount - Fun brand - Attend great conferences - The brand beliefs overall are great as they are different and inclusive

Cons

I ended up with some regular clients during my time there that would book makeup with me but when I got busy with this, I was then disciplined for not selling enough makeup and then I soon realised, I was just a glorified sales agent for the brand and my makeup artist experience and qualifications were completely disregarded. Constant pressure to sell things and made to feel desperate for sales if there was a quiet day and it was really unfair how much pressure was put on us.

Pros

High rate of compensation, fun and exciting employment type not like a boring office setting.

Cons

No compensation for travel, Very Very high and unrealistic sales goals for every shift and even worse for event days, minimal hours, no benefits, not supposed to take breaks even on long shifts unless your clocking out and not getting paid but was told I had to stay later if I took a fifteen on Any 5 or 6 hour shift even though NYS law says with that many hours you are entitled to a fifteen minute break, Just in general alot of expectations from you without proper compensation for hourly/travel/benefits. The only way im surviving with this employment is that im getting disability and my benefits through the state otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this job there wouldn't be enough offered.
