Pros

Remote work environment Company offsite Fully covered healthcare for yourself and dependents/spouse

Cons

When I first started at UpGuard, it was amazing. I felt like I was on a great team, selling a solution I believe in, and being heard by management when I had ideas. However, the true colors of UpGuard and their “leadership and management” really began to show. Managers will take your ideas to executives and take credit. When expressing concerns to “team leads” they were not heard. In one ear and out the other or they would brush you off and give excuses. They 100% play favoritism with their employees and it’s completely inappropriate. The managers and leadership have TRUE “mean girl energy” and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to experience this within the workplace. If one of the “favorites” doesn’t like someone, they are out the door! fired! The managers do not exhibit leadership skills or make you feel as though they want you to grow within the company. Also, leadership will belittle you in public slack channels in front of the entire company, even using profanity!! And it is beyond inappropriate and embarrassing. It’s very disheartening as I genuinely thought this was a great company at first.

UpGuard Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am genuinely sorry to hear that your time at UpGuard did not reflect the inclusive and empowering culture we strive for. Feedback like this is hard to read, but we value it deeply as it helps us grow. We’re proud of our feedback rituals, from structured check-ins during probation to regular 1:1 and skip-level conversations to feedback during probation and our anonymous monthly pulse survey. These processes are designed to ensure team members feel heard, supported, and treated equitably. That said, your comments signal a gap between intent and experience that we take seriously. While what you describe doesn’t reflect the norms or data we consistently see and hear across the business, we recognize that perception is reality. Even one negative experience is one too many. We’ll continue investing in manager development, accountability, and psychological safety across all teams. I appreciate your candor and wish you all the best in your next chapter.

Pros

UpGuard has clearly put a lot of time and energy into ensuring an easy interviewing and onboarding process. While a lot of companies take drag you through 8-9-or sometimes 10 interviews, UpGuard's was relatively quick, but very painless. I always knew if I had a call coming the next week and the recruiter was always in constant communication with me giving me updates. UpGuard's onboarding is easily the best I've ever seen. My experiences in the past was maybe reading a document or two, a quick test, shadow, and then thrown to the wolves. UpGuard has taken a lot of time to create a proper training program. Every day you actually feel like you are leaving more knowledgeable and excited about the company and platform. Also, bonus points for how fun an enthusiastic everyone is on every team call.

Cons

Can't think of any at the moment.

Pros

Good benefits though you likely won’t be there long enough to use them

Cons

During the interview you will be told that you can grow with the company. That as long as you’re coachable and highly driven you’ll have the space to learn and grow. I cannot even begin to go in to how poor the onboarding process is. It’s a joke. Management is vaping on important meetings while telling you how behind you are because you actually did the onboarding tasks. Only after you do them you’re told they weren’t mandatory. You’re then immediately expected to out perform people who have been in the job over two years which ofc is impossible and thus you’ll be let go. The company shared with me that they are in a transitional period when I came in and boy could I tell because not one process here was functional. The team as a whole was extremely behind. Basically it’s all promise and no execution which is just plain disappointing. Work at McDonald’s over this place.
