Pros

The fellow Speech and Language therapists. The level of knowledge and skill from some of the therapists that you can learn from.

Cons

I was warned by my friend to not join this company. My family warned me to apply for a job at an independent company. I didn’t listen and now I am paying the repercussions. The fellow Speech and Language Therapists are lovely. The leadership team takes no accountability and will go to great lengths to protect the company and the CEO. Due to the companies’s actions my mental has been shot to pieces- and I am considering taking a 1 year break from working. It is THAT bad. The work was unmanageable and instead of increasing the pay to compensate the amount of work we did on the team, we will instead receive certificates (that you can print off from Google images) and chocolates (the standard type of chocolates that you can buy from Sainsbury’s). Awful experience all through round.

Pros

There are no pros unfortunately

Cons

I cannot stress enough how terrible this company was to work for. The culture is toxic, the leadership is incredibly disrespectful, and the expectations are completely unrealistic. I was thrown into the job and told to carry out assessments without any adequate training or support. This lack of support and patronising behaviour from management made it nearly impossible to succeed, and I found myself constantly struggling, yet no one cared to check in or offer help. I should have known from when the CEO showed up to my online interview almost an hour late at 9pm in the evening?! They are such an unprofessional company. I was warned on multiple occasions before starting this job not to work for this specific company and I wish I had listened. Almost everyone I have heard that works there has now left and they are continuing to leave. The senior leadership are blunt and rude, and they seem to have no understanding of how to treat their employees with respect or kindness. I had an incident that was incredibly upsetting and anxiety-inducing, yet instead of offering support, I was told “it’s just a part of the role” to decide whether the career was for me. There was no empathy or care for my well-being. I voiced how stressed I was repeatedly, but it fell on deaf ears. I was ignored until things got so bad that I had no choice but to leave. The work-life balance is non-existent. They constantly overload you with work and expect you to be available around the clock, I was left over burdened many times and worked weekends and evenings to get work done despite the lack of appreciation. They leave you with so much burden you have no choice but to dedicate your whole personal life to the job, It is awful. When you do reach out, the leadership team are often condensing and make you feel unworthy of your job, very difficult people to work with. Despite their efforts to act like they appreciate the team by hosting team training days and giving out awards etc, it’s clear the company doesn’t truly appreciate its staff from their behaviours and attitude. At a Christmas ceremony, after two months of drowning in work and going above and beyond, covering other therapists and working into my own time, I was handed an “award” (as was everyone else btw) in front of the whole team. They said, “We haven’t seen much of you yet, but we’re sure we will see more from you soon.” It was humiliating and felt like my hard work had gone completely unnoticed—just another example of the company’s disregard for its employees. My contributions went unnoticed, and continued to be unnoticed even though I had been working my hardest. It was a public slap in the face, and it left me feeling completely devalued and disrespected After I had given my resignation, there were multiple things that this company said and did which caused my mental health to drop significantly. Even after they knew I had left the company for this very reason. The whole thing felt like a setup. There’s a complete lack of accountability and support in this company. They cut corners wherever they can and make life difficult for their employees at every turn. So many people I worked with feel the same way. This company is absolutely toxic and will strip you of your happiness, mental health, and any sense of work-life balance. Please, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place. If you value your well-being, look elsewhere. This is not a place where you will thrive—it’s a place where you will burn out and be discarded
